Jointly hosted by Peking University UK Campus and the Peking University Alumni Association in the UK (PKUAA-UK), the 2026 Annual Alumni Conference of the PKUAA-UK was successfully held in Oxford. Bringing together over 100 PKU alumni, distinguished guests, and professionals across finance, artificial intelligence, healthcare and energy industries, the event provided a high‑end platform for academic exchange, industry dialogue, and alumni networking.

The ceremony was hosted by Li Zihan (2025 graduate, School of Foreign Languages) and Zhang Yiwen (2024 graduate, School of Government). Professor Zhang Xiaodong, President of the PKUAA-UK and Professor at Imperial College London, delivered an opening speech via video, encouraging alumni to uphold PKU’s academic spirit — to study diligently, think critically, and support one another — and to foster a positive, mutually supportive community

Han Bing, Deputy Director of PKU UK Campus, gave an on‑site welcome address and shared updates on the campus’s development. Ying Jieru, Chair of the PKUAA-UK , reviewed the association‘s 15-year history and outlined its key accomplishments in 2025. Attendees also watched a heartfelt blessing video from the PKU Alumni Association headquarters.

Panel Discussion at the Economics and Finance Forum
The Weiming Forum formed the core segment of the day, consisting of two well-received panel sessions. The Economics and Finance panel was moderated by Tu Lang (PHBS, Class of 2025). Speakers included Professor Zhou Peng (Cardiff University), Rao Songsong (senior global financial markets trader), and Dr. Zhou Wensheng (Executive Dean of UCLA–Suzhou Institute). The session explored AI’s growing influence on global financial markets and commodity trends, as well as technological empowerment of industrial upgrading and opportunities for China–UK collaboration.

Panel Discussion at the AI & Healthcare Forum
The AI & Healthcare Panel stood out as a major highlight. Moderated by Dr. Zhang Jie from King’s College London, the session featured speeches from Dr. Gao Anyu, Dr. Liu Peng and Dr. Shi Daqian. The experts shared cutting-edge insights into AI innovation, cancer immunotherapy and multimodal medical intelligence. They further discussed how AI reshapes clinical decision-making, accelerates drug research, and enables personalized treatment and promotes industrial transformation, while touching on data governance and long-term development trends in healthcare.

Before the forum, alumni joined a guided tour of the University of Oxford and PKU UK Campus. As the first overseas campus independently invested and managed by a Chinese university, .the PKU UK Campus features a lake and a tower that echo the iconic landscape of the original Yanyuan campus, offering overseas alumni a strong sense of identity and belonging.



Between sessions, alumni enjoyed light refreshments and networked with panel guests, discussing industry trends and career paths in a relaxed setting. The evening concluded with a warm gala dinner in Oxford. Over dinner, alumni revisited memories of their time at PKU, shared their experiences of living abroad, and strengthened long‑standing ties within the PKU alumni community.
