Getting to Oxford

Oxford is well connected to London and major UK airports, making it straightforward to reach the city from overseas.

*Detailed information about airport pick-up fees and arrangements will be sent to incoming students in August.

1.From Heathrow Airport

The Airline coach provides a direct and convenient service from Heathrow to Oxford.

  • Departs from Heathrow Central Bus Station (Terminals 2 & 3) and Terminal 5
  • Free underground transfer connects Terminal 4 to Terminals 2 & 3
  • Operates 24 hours a day
  • Journey time: approximately 80–90 minutes
  • Ticket: around £25 (one way)

Please check the timetable before travelling. You can book in advance online or pay by card onboard.

Arrival point:

Get off at Gloucester Green Bus Station (Oxford city centre), then take a taxi to campus or your accommodation.

2.From Gatwick Airport

The Airline coach also operates from both Gatwick terminals:

  • Departs from North and South Terminal coach stations
  • Frequency: hourly during the day, every 2 hours overnight
  • Journey time: approximately 2.5–3 hours
  • Ticket: around £30 (one way)

3.From London

If you are travelling from other airports or by rail, it’s easy to transfer in London and take the train to Oxford. Trains departure from both Marylebone Station and Paddington Station and you can book the train ticket on Trainline.

When You Arrive in Oxford

New students will find it easy to take a taxi to campus or your accommodations. Uber and local taxi are available for booking in advance. You can also hop on the ‘black cab’ at the train station and at Gloucester Green bus station, while the fare can be slightly more expensive.

Local Bus Services

Routes X1 and X15 connect Oxford city centre and Hinkey Hill Top. From there, it is approximately a 20-minute walk to the PHBS UK campus
